My passion for exploring wild places drives me as I traverse remote country throughout the world shooting our natural environments and its inhabitants. I am often reminded of the humble role I play in all of it. I have been blessed with a creative gift and a natural connection with nature and animals from a young age.
I am truly replenished after spending time exploring and filming nature. I am in constant awe in what God puts before me during my travels, the breathtaking landscapes, colors and weather along with the spellbinding creatures and their amazing senses and abilities.
Dedicated to becoming an accomplished naturalist, I believe that fine images are earned from a deep respect for nature and the pursuit of knowledge gained by experiencing it. My award-winning work has been published in a variety of publications, framed images grace the walls of homes and corporate offices throughout the world.
I am committed to increasing public awareness about the natural environment through my photography, films, products and community involvement. My goal is to capture that emotion in a creatures eye or moment in time where we truly connect with nature and bring it back to share with you.
Gifts of nature are as plentiful as they are fragile. From the wetlands to the desert, we must maintain a sense of appreciation, respect and an understanding of our natural environments and the species whose very survival as well as our own depends on finding a balance.
I have years of experience working with wildlife from a young age and have worked at various wildlife facilities with hands on experience with a variety of animals. I enjoy public speaking and doing education programs talking about wildlife. I am certified in wildlife rehabilitation with my primary focus on large predatory mammals and birds of prey.
I have over thirty years experience studying and documenting wildlife through my photography, film making and volunteer efforts. I am a naturalist who is dedicating my life to further my knowledge and understanding of our natural world and being a voice for our wildlife and environments to Preserve & Protect Wild Places™.
Dia Slaney was born with an insatiable curiosity for the world around her. From a young age, she found solace and excitement in the great outdoors, spending her days exploring and immersing herself in nature's beauty. This early connection with the natural world laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for photography.
It was during her time with Peter that Dia's love for capturing moments on film truly blossomed. Together, they embarked on countless photo expeditions, venturing into remote and breathtaking landscapes to document the wonders of the world. As Dia witnessed Peter's dedication to his craft and the artistry of photography, she found herself drawn to the medium, eager to learn and grow alongside him.
With each journey, Dia's skills behind the lens flourished. She invested in top-of-the-line equipment, embracing the technical aspects of photography while never losing sight of the emotional resonance of each image. Her photographs began to tell stories of their own, capturing the raw beauty of wildlife, the delicate balance of ecosystems and the profound connection between humanity and nature.
For Dia and Peter, photography became more than just a hobby—it became a shared mission. As a husband and wife team, they dedicated themselves to preserving and protecting the world they so deeply admire. Through their lens, they sought to raise awareness of environmental issues, advocate for conservation efforts and inspire others to appreciate the natural world.
Together, Dia and Peter's photographs serve as a testament to the splendor of the Earth and the importance of safeguarding its treasures for future generations.
