As we traveled across the Serengeti savannah, a distant outcropping of massive boulders caught our attention. As we approached, we came upon this battle-scarred male lion resting high above the plains, his mane moving in the wind as he surveyed the landscape. One detail stood out immediately—his left eye, clouded and blind from past battles, a lasting mark of the life he has endured. Then our eyes met, and in that instant there was a deeply emotional sense of respect and amazement. Even at rest, his presence carried undeniable authority, shaped by years of conflict and survival. King of the Savanna captures that experience—when a brief connection reveals the true power and dignity of the wild.
