I arrived on the southeast side of Mount Hood well before sunset, knowing the final light of the day often transforms the mountain into something extraordinary. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the snow-covered summit erupted in warm shades of gold and rose, standing in striking contrast against the deep blue evening sky. I watched as the alpenglow slowly climbed the peak, revealing every ridge, glacier, and rugged face before fading into twilight. It was one of those moments that reminds me why I continue returning to the mountains with my camera.
